WHERE CHRISTMAS MAGIC COMES TO LIFE!
Santa's Holiday Express
When the first snowflakes start to dance in Kentucky, Santa and Mrs. Claus are ready to spread their Holiday Cheer with a special visit to the Bluegrass Railroad Museum. Join us for a heartwarming ride on the Santa Train, where Christmas magic comes to life on the rails of Central Kentucky.
Christmas Magic on the Rails of the Bluegrass
Every December, the Bluegrass Railroad Museum transforms into something truly magical. The locomotives are decked out for the holidays, the vintage coaches are filled with the warmth of the season, and somewhere on board — Santa Claus himself is making his way down the aisle to visit with every child.
The Santa Train has become one of the most beloved holiday traditions in central Kentucky. Families return year after year, children who once sat wide-eyed waiting for Santa now bring their own little ones, and the volunteers who run this railroad pour their hearts into making every departure feel like Christmas morning.
Whether it's your child's first time meeting Santa or a family tradition going back generations, the Holiday Express delivers a simple, heartwarming celebration of the season — Kentucky style.

What's Waiting for You

From the moment the locomotive pulls out of Versailles station, the holiday spirit is alive and rolling through Kentucky's winter countryside.
A Visit from Santa
Santa Claus visits with every child on the train — personally, one by one. Our conductors and car hosts keep the holiday spirit alive while families wait for their special moment with the jolly old elf.
Carol Singing
Enjoy singing Christmas carols with your fellow passengers as the winter countryside rolls past the windows. Our friendly conductors and car hosts lead the festivities and keep the holiday cheer at full volume.
Winter Wonderland Views
The Kentucky Bluegrass in winter is quietly beautiful — bare horse farms, frost-covered limestone fences, and rolling hills dusted with the season. A peaceful and scenic backdrop for a magical family outing.
Candy Canes for All
At the end of the ride, candy canes are handed out to every passenger before Santa gives his final farewell wave — and then heads back to the North Pole to prepare for his Big Night.
Vintage Railcars
Ride in our beautifully restored vintage passenger coaches — the same coaches that have carried passengers through the Bluegrass for decades, now dressed up in their holiday finest for the season.
A Family Tradition
The Santa Train is for everyone — young children meeting Santa for the first time, families making annual memories, and adults who just love trains, Christmas, and the warmth of a Kentucky holiday.
Pick the Perfect Pumpkin
When the train arrives, it's your turn to explore. Stroll through the pumpkin patch and take your time finding exactly the right one — there's no rush, no crowds, and no shortage of great pumpkins waiting to be discovered.
From tiny decorative gourds to massive jack-o'-lantern candidates, our patch has pumpkins for every plan and every family member — including the little ones who want to carry their own.
Once you've made your selection, bring your pumpkin aboard for the return journey. It's a uniquely Kentucky experience — picking a pumpkin and then watching the autumn landscape roll by from the window of a vintage train.
